STEP 1

Choose Your Finish

Browse our Services & Pricing page to pick your finish (Solid Color, Antiqued, Camo Pattern, or Camo + Antiqued) and any extras. Tap any price to see an example of that work.

Be sure to read the Important Build Notes under the pricing tables so you know what’s included in a complete gun versus stripped parts.

STEP 2

Submit a Work Order

Fill out our online Start a Work Order form with your contact info, your shotgun’s make and model, and the finish, colors, or engraving you want. It only takes a few minutes.

Please don’t ship anything yet. Wait until we’ve confirmed your job in Step 3.

STEP 3

Get Your Job Confirmed

Once we receive your work order, we’ll follow up by email or phone to go over the details and officially accept your job. Here’s what happens next:

  • We review your request and answer any questions.
  • We email you a completed work order and quote to review.
  • You sign the work order and send it back to us by email.
  • Print a copy of your signed work order to ship with your gun.

No signed work order in the box means your build goes to the back of the line.

STEP 4

Prep & Pack Your Parts

Safety first: Make sure the firearm is 100% unloaded. Double-check the chamber and the magazine tube before you pack anything.

Send

  • Only the parts we’re finishing: receiver, barrel, stock, or stripped parts
  • Your printed, signed work order, placed on top of the wrapped parts

Don’t Send

  • Ammunition of any kind
  • Optics, sights, or mounts
  • Slings, cases, or chokes we aren’t working on
  • Any parts or accessories not on your work order

Packing: Wrap each part in heavy bubble wrap with no metal-on-metal contact, then pack it tight in a sturdy box.

STEP 5

Ship It to Us

SHIP TO
Grumpy Duck Classics
5 Maple Street
Belleville, PA 17004
Or ship through your local FFL. We’ll confirm the right option for your build when we accept your job.

Sending serialized firearm parts requires doing things right. All shipments must comply with federal, state, and local laws, including those of both the sender’s and recipient’s jurisdictions. You must be legally authorized to own and ship a firearm.

We are an FFL (Federal Firearms License) holder, and we can receive firearms directly from the owner or another FFL.

  • The Box: Use a sturdy, unmarked box. Do not write words like "Gun," "Firearm," or "Shotgun" anywhere on the outside.
  • The Carriers: Ship directly to our Belleville, PA shop via UPS or FedEx. Do not use USPS to ship serialized receivers.
  • Declaring the Package: When you drop off the box, you are legally required to declare that you are shipping a firearm for gunsmithing services.
  • Insurance & Tracking: We highly recommend insuring your package for the full replacement value and requiring a signature on delivery. We are not responsible for your gear while it is in transit to the shop.

STEP 6

Finish, Payment & Return

TYPICAL TURNAROUND
2–3 Weeks*
*From the day your parts arrive. Hunting season and our workload can add time. We’ll confirm your timeline once your gear is on the bench.

When your parts arrive, we inspect them and confirm the details of your build. We don’t run an assembly line, and we don’t rush the process.

Payment

When your finish and final safety check are complete, we’ll contact you directly for payment. Accepted payment methods and final pricing will be confirmed on your work order and quote.

Return Shipping

Once your invoice is paid, we’ll securely pack your finished firearm and ship it back to the address on your work order. Return shipping details and costs will be confirmed on your quote. Because this is a gunsmithing service, an FFL transfer is not required for the return shipment to your door.
