Grumpy Duck Classics is a brand of Grumpy Duck Co., a family-owned business based in Belleville, Pennsylvania. In this policy, "Grumpy Duck Co.," "we," "us" and "our" mean Grumpy Duck Co., doing business as Grumpy Duck Classics. By submitting a work order, shipping a firearm or part to us, or using grumpyduckclassics.com, you agree to the terms below.
Firearm Ownership & the Law
You confirm that you are the lawful owner of any firearm or part you send us, or that you have the owner's permission, and that you are legally allowed to possess it. You are responsible for following all federal, state and local laws that apply to owning, shipping and receiving your firearm. We may refuse or return any work at our discretion, including work we believe would not be lawful.
Unloaded Firearms Only
Every firearm must arrive completely unloaded, with no ammunition in the box. If a firearm arrives loaded or with ammunition, we may refuse the work and return it at your expense.
Finish Results Will Vary
Every finish is applied by hand, so no two pieces will ever look exactly alike. That is especially true of our Antiqued finish and camo patterns, which are one-of-a-kind by design. Photos on this site show examples of our work, not an exact preview of your result. Colors can also look different on screens than they do in person. Small variations in color, pattern placement and wear effects are part of a hand-finished product and are not considered defects.
Condition of Your Firearm
We inspect every firearm when it arrives. We are not responsible for damage, wear, rust, pitting, cracks or mechanical problems that existed before your firearm reached us. Cerakote is a thin protective coating; it will not hide deep pitting, gouges or other surface damage. If we find a problem during check-in, we will contact you before moving forward.
Function & Reassembly
Our services are cosmetic finishing. We reassemble every firearm and perform a basic function check before it ships, but we do not perform repairs, modifications or warranty work unless we agree to it in writing. Cerakote adds a very thin layer to coated parts, and tight-tolerance parts may need minor fitting. If you have any concern about how your firearm functions, have it inspected by a qualified gunsmith before use. Always follow safe firearm handling practices.
Wood Stocks
Wood is a natural material. Refinishing can reveal grain patterns, repairs, mineral streaks or flaws that were hidden under the old finish. These are part of the wood itself and are not defects in our work.
Shipping
You are responsible for packing and shipping your firearm or parts to us in a way that follows the law and the carrier's rules, and for any loss or damage that happens on the way to us. We recommend insuring your package. Please read How to Order & Ship before sending anything, and do not ship until we have confirmed your work order.
Turnaround Times
Any turnaround time we give you is an estimate, not a guarantee. Workload, materials, curing time and shipping can all affect when your firearm is ready.
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent allowed by law, our total liability for any claim related to our services is limited to the amount you paid us for those services. We are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, including lost hunting time or the cost of a replacement firearm.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The version posted on this page, with the date shown at the top, is the one that applies.
